Relentless Energy was brought on to research interconnection and IRP policy in the Mountain West, with a focus on identifying opportunities for geothermal energy expansion at the policy level. Over the course of three months, interviews were held with utilities across the Mountain West to understand their experience with the geothermal industry to date. Additional input was collected on opportunities for transmission collaboration and ways to bring geothermal projects online faster. A parallel set of interviews was done with geothermal developers to understand their internal capacity and experience with utilities in the region. The final product was an internal paper sharing findings and strategies to help both groups work together. This work will be shared as part of 2026 meetings with the industry and drive strategic growth.

This included transmission analysis, site identification, local permitting and legal research, and development strategy. The final product was a going forward plan for client to execute when funding & staffing allow.

This included in person meetings and networking across the geothermal services industry with MEPs, TEN owners, and other members of the MUSH market. Over 100 opportunities were initially identified and narrowed down to a viable pool of options and future collaborators.
